This is where you set up logging options and settings. Logging is useful if you want to drag and drop your whole web site onto the Drag and Drop Window and then find out which documents may contain problems without going through each individual validation report. By viewing the log (which is one file), you can quickly determine which documents need attention and which do not. Please note that if you keep logging enabled and do not occasionally delete the log file, the log file can become very large.
File Options
- Log reports to filename - Specify the filename with full path that is used to log the results of validations if logging has been enabled. If logging is enabled, then validating a document will cause a validation results summary to be appended to this log file.
Options
- Enable logging - If you want to turn on logging, check this box. A summary of the validation results of all HTML documents that are validated when logging is enabled will be logged to the log file. This option is not enabled by default.
- Log error messages - Check this box if you want the log file to include the actual error messages that are generated by the validations. This option is not enabled by default.
- Log warning messages - Check this box if you want the log file to include the actual warning messages that are generated by the validations. This option is not enabled by default.
- Include HTML lines containing errors and/or warnings - Check this box if you want the log file to include the lines from an HTML source document that generated an error or warning message. You must also check Log error messages or Log warning messages for the HTML lines to be logged because an HTML line is not logged if the corresponding warning or error message is not also logged. This option is enabled by default.
